I am the product of an unhappy marriage and I can say from the child's standpoint that I was happy when my parents finally divorced. It wasn't marriage, but I left my daughter's father and moved out when she was still an infant because I didn't want her view of love to be her dad and I's loveless relationship. Children can sense when something is off and for some reason we try to hide it. I want to teach my children what it looks like to be in healthy relationships and I knew that meant I had to be their example.
