I have been feeling unwell all week due to my children being sick which has unfortunately spread to me.
However, thanks to Zicam, vitamins, and rest, I am feeling better as I write this letter.
This week, I have spent some time reflecting on my life and realized that if I want to see different outcomes, I need to make some changes.
Even though I have been teaching this to others for years, sometimes I need to remind myself and take my advice.
Emotionally, the past few years have been draining. At 40, I reevaluated my life and realized that I wanted something different, even though I couldn't explain what it was. Filing for divorce was a turning point that changed me forever. Though a part of me wanted to return to my old self, I realized that I was not that woman anymore.
Now, I am free to live the life I want, but it may look different from how I showed up before. Divorcing my ex also meant divorcing my old self, and I am excited to embrace this new chapter in my life.
Small Changes
I'm determined to have better dating experiences this year, which means I need to continue working on myself and approach things differently. To make room for what I want, I've deleted a few guys from my phone and unfollowed some on Instagram.
Another small change that I've made is that I've started taking better care of my nails. My nails have always been short and brittle and barely grow. So, I bought some clear nail polish from Target and began to keep them filed so that they could start growing.
If you have any tips on how to grow long and healthy nails, please share them in the comments.
This is the kind of work that is necessary in life; it's about looking at the things that make you unhappy and making small changes. The changes you make could be anything. For me, it was getting a divorce and living on my own for the first time in my forties. It was also deciding whether I wanted to attract different men into my life and grow healthy nails.
I believe that I deserve to live the best life possible, and so do you.
Creating the life we want to live is up to us. We must take stock of our lives and make small changes along the way. No one is coming to save us or show us the way. We must decide that we want something different and do whatever it takes to make our lives better.
It’s One Decision
Every day, you have to decide that you want better and then do whatever it takes to make your life better.
I want my nails to look prettier, so I am painting them. I want better dating experiences, so I am letting go of negative energy from past relationships.
That’s it. That’s all.
Beyonce's new song "16 Carriages" has this line that brings me to tears every time I hear it: "The legacy, if it's the last thing I do, You'll remember me 'cause we got somethin' to prove."
I am here to leave a legacy and live the most beautiful life possible, and it's up to me to make sure it happens.
It's a process of doing something different, and even when it's challenging, I know deep in my spirit that it's worth it.
You owe it to yourself to live a life of freedom, so go live the best life possible for yourself because you deserve it.
Let’s chat: What’s a big or small change do you need to make in your life?

Things Worth Sharing…
My birthday is next month and I was on TikTok and learned about the app YayDay, where you can find all the birthday freebies in your area. Cool, right!
I am officially stan of the author Kennedy Ryan. She’s a phenomenal writer. This past weekend I finished her book, The Reel and it was so good. I listened to the audiobook, it was over 16 hours and I loved every single minute of it.

Keep your hands moisturized, massage your cuticles, use a base coat, and change your nail polish weekly,
I love your reflection question because I just made a list of "tiny little changes" in my journal from a task in The Artist's Way. One of the ways I'm implementing small changes is to intentionally move my body more. My declining mental health also took a toll on my physical health and I found myself always feeling fatigued and heavy and so not a lot of movement was happening outside of what was absolutely necessary. Now that I'm feeling better, I'm moving more and I am already feeling a difference.
