We're halfway through the month, and I've done three big things to change up the scenery in my life.
The first thing I did was dye my locs blonde, and this was a big deal for me. I've dyed my hair in the past, however, I've always stayed within my comfort zone by dying my hair auburn.
Dying my hair gave me the same feeling as getting a new tattoo, it just felt right for my transformation journey.
While at the salon, when it was time for me to look in the mirror, I was a little shocked by my reflection because I did not recognize myself.
It's like I aged backward and looked even younger than I already do. The woman that I saw in the mirror was the version of myself that has been suppressed for decades, and she was finally coming alive again.
The following morning, I flew to Tulum, Mexico. This trip was significant because I wanted to acknowledge my growth and healing, and I was celebrating my divorce.
Before I got on the plane, I set an intention that I wanted to be present and savor every moment. And I did just that!
The one thing I kept saying the whole time was, "My soul is happy."Â
I ate well. I laughed. I relaxed. I partied. I recharged. I let go. I rested.
This trip gave me everything I needed to embrace the next chapter of my life.

When I returned to the States, I was on a natural high, and I wanted to bottle up the experience I had in Tulum for as long as I could.
I had a boost of creative energy, and I was inspired to finish painting my apartment.
I went to Sherwin Williams, got my paint supplies, and spent last weekend painting my hallway and office nook area.
So even though I live in an apartment, I still want to make it feel the way I need it to feel while I am living here.
My home feels energizing, warm, and full of light and I am in love with the way everything came out.
Isn’t it gorgeous?!?!
Life doesn’t have to feel dull and mundane. There are things you can do right now to change up your scenery and start feeling inspired again.
I want you to think about how you can switch some things up in your life. Maybe it’s not dying your hair, traveling outside the country, or painting your home, but there’s something you can do to liven up your life.
You only have one life to live, just one, so make sure you are living the life you want to live and not the one you think you should live.
