2023 has been quite a year, to say the least, and it seems like everyone I talk to is feeling it.
If you can relate and life has been kicking your butt and you feel like you can’t catch a break, I want you to know you’re not alone.
I am noticing that many people are going through it and often they don’t have safe spaces to express themselves and release their feelings of being overwhelmed by life.
I think the frustrating thing about adulting, is no one gives us a playbook on how to figure everything out and we’re all just doing the best we can.
And honestly that’s all you can do and your best will look different every single day.
The month of August was challenging for me and there were moments when I was like WTF is happening?
One thing I have to constantly remind myself to do is, slow down and notice what I notice.
I created outlets to allow myself space to release the tension I was holding in my body.
Some of the things I started doing this month that have been helpful for me are…
I started working with a new therapist specifically to support me with self-discovery and my new identity
I listen to binaural beats that are really calming to my nervous system
I began taking Hello Happy Gummies and I can tell the difference they’ve made in my mood
I began doing morning yoga sessions with Yoga by Adrienne on YouTube.
These are just a few of the things I’ve been doing to shift my energy this month.
I encourage you to find outlets that will be supportive as you navigate the challenges that come up in your life.
And I want to remind you that you’re not alone.
I am here to not only share my life and process with you but to also inspire you to keep showing up for yourself.

There’s so much that we can learn from one another and I am really trying to understand things from a male’s perspective. I mentioned this book on my podcast, How To Love A Black Man by Dr. Ronn Elmore.

When life gets overwhelming I take a long, hot bath with my fave Lush products, I listen to music, sometimes I just sit for awhile and listen, sometimes I need to sleep it off, lol.
