Last Summer, I was on my daily walk when I heard, “It’s time to dream a new dream.”
It was a similar experience that I had back in 2013 when I heard God say, "This is your opportunity to take a chance on yourself," after receiving the news that I was being permanently laid off.
Several months later, I started BeFree Project, a personal growth company designed to help women do their inner work.
I’ve learned to trust Spirit even when I'm uncertain of the meaning.
While married, I knew I hit the ceiling in both my work and my personal life, and for me to grow and flourish, some things would have to end.
Shortly after hearing it was time for me to dream a new dream, I decided that BeFree Project was complete and it was time to close that chapter of my life along with the ending of my marriage.
I would be lying if I said this was an easy decision, it was not.
I cried a lot because I loved my work, and I am very proud of what I built from the ground up.
And yet, I decided to listen to what I heard, “It’s time to dream a new dream.”
BeFree Project had served its purpose in my life and the thousands of women I had helped across the world, and I was ready for something new and fresh.
I took time to process the completion of my company for months while I worked through the emotional stuff of ending my marriage.
Whew, and that was A LOT!
Then one beautiful morning while drinking my coffee and journaling, I told Spirit I was ready to know what was next for me.
In my journal, I asked the question, What do I love to do?
The thought that immediately came to mind was, I love to talk and share things, and I want to get paid amazingly well for doing what I love.
That same day I had two conversations, one with my daughter and one with my friend, that gave me the answer I was searching for.
My new dream is to center my work around my podcast, and that would be the one thing I will focus my energy on and grow from there.
When I had this revelation, I felt both excitement and peace in my body.
It feels so right!
My new dream as it relates to my work wasn’t about creating something new, it’s about putting energy into the thing I love to do with ease.
Recently I realized that I wasn’t just dreaming a new dream as it relates to my work, but also I was dreaming a new dream in my personal life.
And what I am exploring now is reimagining a life that I want to live that is my own and not based on societal norms or family beliefs.
I am releasing everything that was attached to my old self as I embrace the woman I am becoming.
I am approaching this from a place of curiosity and fun. I am intentionally choosing to live my life my way, and that feels good to me.
In today’s podcast episode, I share one of my dreams that I am currently planning for right now.
