Do The Thing(s) That Most Excite You
It's completely okay to change your mind.
After years of doing business in a certain manner, I'm now prepared for a shift.
My previous business (BeFree Project) turned me into a workaholic, as I was constantly toiling and, at times, barely making ends meet.
My primary goal was to empower women, but ironically, I didn't feel liberated because I always strive for self-improvement, feeling like nothing was ever sufficient.
Earlier this week, I pondered the question, "Do I want to continue podcasting?" Initially, my immediate response was, "Yes, we podcast that's what we do."
However, upon revisiting the question later, the real truth became apparent. Podcasting had begun to feel like a task, I had to do, and unenjoyable for some time. It had started to seem more like an obligation rather than a genuine desire.
I value freedom, and whenever something gets in the way, I have to take a moment to make an adjustment so I am in alignment.
Then, I asked myself, "What excites you the most right now?" The answer came effortlessly: writing and creating a community on TikTok by sharing content around being an open-nester, in my forties, and on a self-discovery journey.
After reflecting on this, I decided to step away from podcasting for the remainder of the year and focus entirely on writing newsletters, expanding my presence on TikTok, and developing resources for my digital library.
And that decision feels incredibly liberating! I am granting myself the freedom to change my mind and embrace what truly resonates with me. This is the beauty of creativity - the freedom to pursue what feels most authentic to you.
