In 2017, I attended a Self-Care Retreat organized by my friend Tara in New Orleans. One of the speakers at the event was Stevie, the founder of Black Women Are For Grown Ups. Her talk was captivating, and what stood out to me the most was how she embodied her feminine energy and owned the room.
I was intrigued by her presence and wondered how she was able to do that. Later that evening, I sent her a direct message on IG expressing my admiration for her and asking for book recommendations to help me on my self-discovery journey.
She suggested that I start by reading "Woman Who Run With The Wolves." I bought the book and began reading it, but I realized that my spirit wasn't quite ready for it. It would be almost two years before I picked up the book again and was able to fully comprehend the message.
In 2020, I read Untamed, and it was in this book that I found the words to describe what I was feeling. I felt like I was in a cage, and there was this wild part of me that yearned to be free.
These two books marked the beginning of my journey to redefine my freedom, and since then, I have been adding books on sensuality and feminine energy to my home library. Over the years, as I've learned from my reading and having conversations with women, I've come to understand that we all have a wild version of ourselves that many of us have suppressed for several reasons.
I am curious to learn more about womanhood, tap into my inner goddess, and share my experiences with my readers. Below are the books that I have in my library, I have not read them all yet, however, I plan to and will be sharing what I am learning with you.

Oooh The Ethical Slut is already on my list! Looking these up to see which I want to add to my list.
1, 5, 7and 8 will be my first purchases. One will probably be the one I start with. I too tried reading The Women who run with wolves a while back. It was a hard read. I'll definitely give it another try. I can't wait to start reading!
